The Best Advice I have Gotten by : Kim Gendron

Whether it has been said by you father, your coach or a friend, there is always a piece of advice that will stay with you, motivating you. In fact, the advice I have gotten that has stayed with me was said by my father. His phrase was " You can play any sport, as long as you are the best player." This is my motivation, to make my father proud. Besides, who would want to be the worst player, when you can be the best? Being the best can give you opportunities of a lifetime and lastly, make you feel good.

First of all, when it comes to a sport, why be the worst when you can be the best? Putting all your effort is a key element in reaching this title. Yes I say title, because it is a great honour being seen as the best player in your team. In addition, scholarships and grants can be given to you due to your talent in sports. Secondly, Being told you are the best in your team regardless of who told you will always make you feel good, wether you deny it or not. The pride and the feeling of accomplishment fills your head with positive thoughts despite the fact that you replied with a simple " no" or "I'm not as good as you." we tend to denny the fact because we are scared that the one who tells us will think that you are gloating or showing-off. Lastly, one in a lifetime opportunities can be given to you, such as playing for a good team, and traveling around the world. The best players give all they have because sometimes they don't have the money to travel or even to go to school!

The effort you put in often determines how much you want and are willing to give to reach this title. The advice that has been given to me motivates me to become a better player. Why be the worst when you can be the best? Being told you are the best will make you feel good and one in a lifetime opportunities can be given to you. A piece of advice will scar you and stay with you, this is mine, what is yours?
