My first reason for believing thay cheerleading is a sport is because of the mandatory safety measures as we as, having to follow the rules that must be abide by. As said before, if any sport is a sport, then it must require rules to be eligible to play. Cheerleading has strict rules in order to avoid getting hirt. Just like, different level categories not being allowed to do certain stunts. In fact, if you abuse this rule you may will be punished by losing points or even disqualification, during competitions. It takes the heart and willing to have success in this sport by training hard keeping yourself up tight for competition just like any other sport.
Secondly, another reason for my thought of this subject is how cheerleading is physically demanding. Like any other sport cheerleading needs the proper training and equipment needed for the safety environment. Cheerleaders must be able to do flips, have the physical and mental strength that it takes for training, be flexible, and catch their teamates when thrown 10 feet up into the air. If thag isn't physically demanding then I don't know what is. Like all sports cheerleaders don't only need uniforms but need safety equipments. In cheerleading your safety equipment isn't you nut in your teamates hands to catch you when your thrown up in the air. This is the reason why cheerleading should be considered a sport because you have to put some faith and trust to your teamates just as much as they expect it from you. In cheerleading you relie on your teamates to do your very best just like any other sport.
The favt is that it is physically, mentally demanding, it takes the heart and willing for success and involves being competitive makes cheerleading a sport.
