Blending Technology in Schools! By: Brian O'Farrell

     10, 15, 20, 25, 30 pounds! This is how heavy a student's backpack can get. Student's textbooks should be replaced with laptops because they are first of all, are less heavy than textbooks which cause many back problems to students. Secondly, texbooks cause many environmental problems because trees have to be cut down in order to make these books. Lastly, the laptops would last longer and they would cost less money in the long run.

     First of all, student's textbooks should be replaced with laptops because laptops are not as heavy as textbooks. This is because students have very heavy backpacks nowadays due to the numerous different books they have for each individual class. Some days students have to bring home many books because they have to complete many assignments that require many books. This said the problem could be solved with only one "book" called a laptop! This is because using a laptop every single subject could be entered in the laptop which means it would be less heavy for student's back. It has even been Saadi that with the technological revolution some laptops weigh less than 2 pounds!

      Secondly, laptops would be better than textbooks because they would save the environment and they would be more organized and clean. This is because the textbooks are made with paper and paper is made with trees. This said it would cause less deforestation which is present a lot nowadays. Another very important point that most students have already experience is the fact that with paper things can get messy and lost. With a laptop, everything is well organized and clean. Moreover everything can be classified neatly and sudents wont have exuses for not handing in a work like "I lost it" or "its at home, I forgot it".

     Lastly, laptops are less expensive in the long run. This is a point that distinguishes itself a lot and makes laptops even better than computers. This is because laptops dont have to be changed everytime the information gets outdated because all it requires is a simple update that can be done very easely and fast. Moreover teachers wont have to go through unessesary things because they can only pin point the things they feel nessary and that is needed to be learned.

     In conclusion, students textbooks should be repclaced with laptops since they are not as heavy as textbooks, they save the environment and lastly the information can easely be changed. How great would it be to use technology in school while making things better!
