Colour Clash by Nicholas Gordon
Colour Clash is an annual event that happens on the third Friday of every September, it involves every student and categorizes them into random groups. Although the aim of this is to encourage school spirit and meet new people, people mostly just spend the time to mess around with their friends, be they in your team or not. I think, personally, that Colour Clash is a great idea to advertise and keep people at St. Pat's - and in my opinion, it works. It's a great way to introduce new students to this school and for those new people to meet some friends. Some people spend all day going to every activity, and running all the way chanting on their allies, while others just walk around with friends, lazily checking out some activities. I like it a lot, it's a great way to relax and get to know some people better, and re-meet the people you saw last year. Unfortunately, there's always events that no one wants to participate in, every year, so those who didn't volunteer for anything end up doing it. Colour Clash has a few design flaws, but overall, anyone who attends enjoys the event thoroughly, even if they are not interested in the activity they had to do. Everyone is encouraged to wear ridiculous accessories of their colour, like Leprechaun hats for green team, or morph suits. At the end of the day, points earned from winning activities and having school spirit are tallied up and the winner is declared. Every student I've encountered has thoroughly enjoyed Colour Clash. Colour Clash is a staple event at St. Patrick's High School, and it's for a good reason!

I love Colour Clash, it's my favourite activity of the school year! I think one day you'll make a great team captain!
ReplyDeleteColor Clash is awesome, but like you said, there are some design flaws. One of the ones I find the worst is that many people just stay home instead of going to school. Its great getting to see people again after the summer.(GO GRAY TEAM!)

I enjoyed Colour Clash for the first time since I just moved to Quebec and transfered schools. At my previous school, we did something like Colour Clash, only it wasn't as elaborate.
